Media : Treatments MikroPul offers a wide assortment of standard and proprietary media treatments to increase efficiency, lengthen filter life, or aid dust release. Your MikroPul representative can help you determine or even develop the right treatment for your air filtration / dust collection application. The table and descriptions below give an overview of the most popular treatments we can provide. Other, more specialized treatments are available.
Mikrotex® - High efficiency expanded PTFE membrane laminate for surface filtration where optimal release and filtration efficiency are required. Click here for more information.
ARNITM - An impregnation treatment that "sheaths" every fiber in a chemically inert fluoropolymer resin that retards acid attacks.
Shield - A PTFE based coating that produces a smooth, non-fibrous, micropermeable surface which possess excellent dust release and water repellency properties, and provides superior dust collection efficiency.
HCE® - A silicone based impregnation treatment that reduces cake cleaning problems associated with sticky, agglomerating dusts.
Tuflex® - A 100% PTFE finish for improved chemical resistance, dust release, filter life, and lower pressure drop.
Singed - The felt surface is passed over a flame which burns off loose fibers and causes surface fibers to shrivel. This "fuzz" removal improves dust cake release.
Glazed - Heavily singed felt that is then calendered to impart a much smoother surface.
Epitropic - An impregnation treatment covering the fibers with an anti-static resin system neutralizing electrical charges that could build up during filtration.
Flame Retardant - An impregnation treatment which deters ignition of media by hot incandescent particles in the dust stream.
Acrylic foam - A coating of porous acrylic foam to effectively simulate an instant dust cake. By controlling the foam cell structure, a very uniform pore matrix can be achieved.
SDF - A very uniform high efficiency media with enhanced treatment to satisfy most demanding applications. Click here for more information.
Silicone - An impregnation treatment that aids dust cake release and provides limited water repellency.
Metallized - An aluminized coating that causes any static charge to be earthed, improving dust release and reducing risk of explosion.
Hydrophobic / Oleophobic - An impregnation process using a fluorocarbon-based resin to impart some water or oil repellency properties to the media. It assists in releasing a wet, oily, or sticky dust cake during cleaning.
Chemflex® - An acid resistant fiberglass finish for use in chemically aggressive environments.
Graf-O-Sil® - A tri-component all purpose fiberglass finish for general applications.
