8/15/06 | Snap-in Bag Removal Is Now As Easy As Pulling A Trigger - Even For Especially Tough Pleated Bags

MikroPul has introduced a filter bag removal device, the Grapoid, which quickly removes top removal snap-in pleated and felt bags quickly and with very little effort. To provide leak-free operation, top removal snap-in bags provide a very tight seal with the baghouse grid plate which requires considerable effort to loosen during removal. Coupled with a cordless or pneumatic drill, the unique Grapoid loosens snap-in bags in just a few seconds without the hard work.

The Grapoid also eliminates damage to filter bags, allowing them to be reused.

The Grapoid was selected as a finalist in the 2006 Plant Engineering Product of the Year competition.

1/2/06 | MikroPul Introduces New Low Pressure Kiln Off-gas Baghouse for Cement Industry

MikroPul's new baghouse for cement kiln dust control, the Mikro-Pulsaire K/LP, provides low cost operation in a compact, space-saving design. The patented Expandiffuse™ 2-stage inlet reduces air velocities up to 90%. Combined with low pressure cleaning (less than 30 psi), this new design provides many benefits - less dust reaching the bags because of dropout to the hopper and virtual elimination of dust re-entrainment; lower pressure drop; fewer cleaning pulses and lower compressed air consumption; longer bag life, up to five years, due to less dust abrasion and fewer, lower pressure cleaning pulses - adding up to lower capital equipment prices at collector purchase, and longer maintenance-free operation.

10/1/05 | Your Baghouse Maintenance People Will Thank You For Specifiying MikroPul's New ProSnap Filter Bags For Your Top Load Collector

Snap-in filter bags mean simple installation compared to clamp designs but are known for putting tremendous strain on fingers and wrist tendons. ProSnap filter bags, available only from MikroPul, give you the advantages of snap-in bags without the disadvantages:

  • Easier and quicker changeouts. The ProSnap band is much easier to deform so there’s less strain on the tendons.
  • A more secure seal. Because ProSnap provides 2-point sealing (conventional snap-in bags provide1-point sealing), there is less chance of a leak if some baghouse grid plate holes are over-size.
  • Good Value. ProSnap bags are the same price as conventional double beaded bags.

Snap-in bags have a spring steel band sewn into the top cuff. Conventional bags have a flat band. ProSnap bands feature a rounded groove formed around the middle of the band. This groove is slotted, allowing the band to flex easily, and requiring much less force to insert and remove.

02/1/05 | MikroPul Introduces First Snap-in Pleated Bag With Integral Venturi

MikroPul's Mikro-Pleat V-Series is the first snap-in pleated bag with an integral venturi. Venturis have long been recognized as necessary for optimum performance in pulse-jet baghouses. They provide two important benefits: 1) Optimized pulsing and 2) Less pressure drop during normal operation. Now these benefits are available for those who want pleated bags with the convenience of the snap-in design.

IPSCO Saskatchewan Inc. has received ISO 14001 certification of their environmental management systems.

06/30/04 | Cement Upgrade Significantly Improves Emissions

MikroPul recently completed an upgrade for a cement plant, taking into consideration a required increase in production at the kiln from 2,300 metric tons (2,350 tons) to 3,400 metric tons (3,460 tons) per day. The customer also needed to improve emissions from 300 mg/m3 (0.13 grains/ft3), to less than 30 mg/m3 (0.013 grains/ft3). The tested emission results were 5.5 mg/m3 (0.0025 grains/ft3).

MikroPul replaced the kiln's precipitator with a baghouse, including dust collection conveyors capable of handling a discharge rate of 28 metric tons/hr (28.5 tons/hr) at the upset conditions.

For the plant's new gate-type clinker cooler, MikroPul provided a baghouse, pre-cleaning cyclone, forced draft cooler, interconnecting ducting, ID fan, stack, and all dust collection conveyors, designed for a discharge rate of 45 metric tons/hr (45.8 tons/hr) at the upset conditions. Emissions results were similar to the kiln baghouse.
